Day 2 – Today we woke up very early, very excited and very refreshed. Today was day 2 in Hawaii and we were so excited because we were going to the popular Kualoa Ranch just near the North Shore. This was the only thing we had booked ahead of arriving due to the fact it was very popular and many tours booked out way in advance. The best deal I found was to book via their website. As we are both adrenaline junkies and after reading so many great reviews about Kualoa Ranch we definitely had try out the ATV tour after. After reading alot on the website I realise if we paid an extra $100 each more we could stay at the ranch all day and do three amazing tours all at once.. you’re only in Hawaii once. So we booked the ATV adventure package it was about $180.US and was money well spent.
We originally we’re going to hire a car so we could drive there and discover the North shore ourselves after the ATV tour but then decided the amount of money that we would have spent on hiring a car for the day, the car hire would have been wasted due to the fact that we would be at the Ranch from 8 a.m. till 3 p.m. So the night before we called and asked them if they could pick us up from our hotel and drop us back, they said of course which was great and it was only $10 per person. So we got up at 6:30 a.m. walked down the road and grabbed an unhealthy bite to eat at McDonald’s Waikiki and walked over to the Marriott Hotel where the big green coach from Kualoa Ranch arrived to pick us up and so many other people as well.
As we started driving towards the North Shore it started raining but we were fine because we had heard that rain does not last long in Hawaii and that was true, within 25 minutes the rain has stopped, the sun was out and the humidity was high.
There were so many people at Kualoa Ranch and so many tours to choose from. I’m glad we booked 3 weeks in advance because they were booked out! Our first tour was a jungle tour in a big F50 with seats and canopies on top. We were driven through the jungle and saw some movie sites that we’re used in Jurassic Park, Kong and more. We got to stop and walk around at two sites and the scenery was amazing.
After an hour the tour was over it was 11 a.m and lunch time! The buffet lunch was also included in the package it was way more food than what we thought there would be. From mix salads, pork ribs boiled rice and lots of pineapple.
We were buggered by the time we got back to Waikiki at 3.40pm we definitely enjoyed the relaxation and cocktails at the Beach Bar Waikiki. This was a huge highlight of our trip and a place we’d recommend to everyone.
At 12:15pm we were eagerly awaiting our next tour, the one we were most excited for, it was the 1 hour ATV tour. It was awesome! Our instructor was great, he fitted so much in our hour, the scenery was gorgeous, something we’ll never forget. We stopped at 2 sites for photos and enjoyed riding around at a fun speed.
At 1:30pm was our Ocean Voyage tour. This was relaxing and beautiful. Firstly we hoped in a giant canoe and went across the waters to a little island to hop on a big catamaran where they took us on a tour through then ancient fishponds and explained a lot about the history. We saw five turtles on this tour and also a great view of Chinaman’s hat. We ended the day on a high.. it was fun, full of history, adrenaline and amazing sights.
